Tricia Scully – Holding Out

On a pleasant day, Tricia stopped by to play us her music. The first specifically electric guitar singer songwriter to be filmed for Onesongs, I was excited to see what the outcome would be. She set up in the corner of my makeshift studio with her trusty looper and let loose with some seamless fingerstyle guitar playing. As if that’s not enough to be swept away by, she sings beautifully, writes poetic lyrics, and has a way cool guitar, too.

Carl Hauck – Coffee on the Rocks

I recently was contacted to do a video of Carl Hauck.  On his way through Iowa on tour, Carl stopped by during the afternoon to play his music for me at my temporary living situation. The vintage house provided a nice atmosphere for his music. Sweetly sung, folksy, acoustic fingerstyle music– my favorite. I think you’ll definitely want to catch him on his next time through on tour.

Jacob Tyler Wolfgang – To the Moon, Kid

Posted: December 7th, 2009 | Author: scottgratton | Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: | No Comments »

Mid-day at my new place of residence in downtown Des Moines. A good friend of mine and talented musician, Jacob Tyler Wolfgang stopped by The Colonade (my building has a name) to do a video with me. Wolfgang is currently working on a full length album that will be released sometime in the new year. Jacob is an amicable quipster, but with the addition of a guitar, he becomes a thoughtful poet. Check it out…

Danny Heggen – Lovely Day

Ah, dear fans, I apologize for the lack of content in the last months. Life has been its usual continuous transition as I’ve moved several times throughout Iowa over the last year. I’m now starting to put down roots in the Iowa capital city of Des Moines. It’s exciting to be able to watch the music scene grow in leaps and bounds since I’ve been out here. Great musical acts are emerging and putting their hands in the expansion of the artistic community and branching out to serve the rest of the city. A shining example of community service is Danny Heggen, who has been a strong advocate for the homeless youth of Des Moines through his published collection of stories that was released earlier this year. Apart from that, Heggen performs under the name ‘Seedlings’ in Des Moines playing sweetly sung acoustic folk music. Give a listen and see what I mean.
