We’re moving to Oregon, and this is our last show in Iowa…if not forever, at least for a long time. Join us for the festivities at the Mars Cafe on July 16th as we give our fair city a “musical hug” goodbye.
Last weekend we played our first house show, a smashing success! Thanks to the gracious hosts and audience the ‘vibe’ was really sweet and intimate. Despite a confounding rainstorm, we played inside rather than on the back porch, but the setting couldn’t have been better. Enjoy this clip of our lead off song “Winteresque” in the McCord’s living room – impromptu venue.
We pulled out the art supplies and before we knew it pipe cleaner art was everywhere! It turns out that the guys from Why Make Clocks are quite the artists (Pac Man, Star Wars, and other creative elements were bent and formulated by WMC). Also, if you haven’t heard Why Make Clocks plan an acoustic set you’re really missing out; their songs shine in an intimate setting like the Mars Cafe.
Also, congratulations to H. Dustin Harmsen of the Atudes on a wildly successful opening acoustic set, as well as the Atudes CD release…which is tonight!
I’ve just received the schedule for the Haiti concert and FYI – the Finn Miles set starts at 2pm on April 3rd at the Vaudeville Mews. So…come see all of the talented bands, but if you’re looking to not miss the Finn Miles set, show up before 2pm!
I’ve just signed on to put together an acoustic set for an eclectic little benefit concert for Haiti.
Meals for the Heartland is a Central Iowa organization who has been sending meals to Haiti for the past couple years; this is a great chance to support a very efficient and well run aid/mercy organization.
