We covered a lot of interesting topics including the Telltale Heart EP, upcoming recording plans, musical inspiration and the success recent shows. Stay tuned…I’ll have the full interview posted here in a matter of days!

In preparation for the fantastic billing for FolksGiving I suggest a few little preparation points.
1. Bring your admission. $5 Donation or hats, gloves, canned food donation will get you in the door. Remember, generosity is the key to the door of FolksGiving!
2.Check out the bands…warm up your voice…sing along!

Dustin Smith
Bella Soul
Jacob Tyler Wolfgang

3. Be a friend! FolksGiving is a community event, so either come with friends, or make some friends at the show. FolksGiving will be held in the comfy 4th Street Theater attached to Java Joe’s in downtown Des Moines, IA.
See you there!

Ah, dear fans, I apologize for the lack of content in the last months. Life has been its usual continuous transition as I’ve moved several times throughout Iowa over the last year. I’m now starting to put down roots in the Iowa capital city of Des Moines. It’s exciting to be able to watch the music scene grow in leaps and bounds since I’ve been out here. Great musical acts are emerging and putting their hands in the expansion of the artistic community and branching out to serve the rest of the city. A shining example of community service is Danny Heggen, who has been a strong advocate for the homeless youth of Des Moines through his published collection of stories that was released earlier this year. Apart from that, Heggen performs under the name ‘Seedlings’ in Des Moines playing sweetly sung acoustic folk music. Give a listen and see what I mean.

A very talented drummer and designer, Mr. Wayde Stover, has just spruced up his online portfolio.
Long-time Finn Miles fans may recognize some of the excellent work Wayde has done…the fine styling of our Branches EP is all due to him.
Check it out here.

Dear friends,
In my last email I concluded by saying “Thanks for support us…see you soon!”
I publicly apologize for this typo…my expert proofreader is also employed as a doctor and was busy saving lives at the time this email was written.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Love,
Paul

We’ve got a big idea and we want to get you involved.
On Friday, November 20th, from 6pm – 9pm at the Java Joe’s – 4th Street Theater, we’re launching the first “FolksGiving” folk/acoustic music concert to support the Central Iowa Homeless Youth Shelter. Through Folksgiving we hope to provide winter supplies (gloves, hats, coats) and Thanksgiving food for the kids at the shelter.
By partnering with a variety of area churches and other charitable organizations we hope to raise community awareness of youth homelessness and provide the shelter the resources they need to provide comfort this Thanksgiving season.
A collection of some of Iowa’s hottest acoustic/folk bands will be entertaining throughout the night, including:
Gabe Cordova
Dustin Smith
Bella Soul
Finn Miles
Menlo
Jacob Tyler Wolfgang
and book readings from Danny of “Seedlings.”
