Where do you draw the line?

It’s a fine line between animation, video games, soundtracks, hit singles, and movies these days. I’ve been trying to blur the lines for a while and found a great mind and talent in my friend Josh Larson of God at Play. Josh and I recently collaborated on a audio/visual project for Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, IA. Josh “performed” at the weekend services…a great first run!

If you haven’t heard the long version of the soundtrack please check it out right here while you look at the pictures.

Enjoy!

Native Son – Soundtrack for dramatic reading

Posted: May 16th, 2009 | Author: finnmiles | Filed under: Uncategorized | No Comments »

Heya,

What better thing to do than collaborate with great artists? I recently crossed paths with outstanding artist Josh Larson of God at Play and have collaborated with him on a little prototype digital media project. The project is a dramatic reading and “controlled” visual animation with soundtrack. I’m sure Josh will wax poetic about the details on his blog, but I thought I’d share the long-mix of the soundtrack with my Finn Miles readers.

That’s right…we do soundtracks!

Gardening is so very rock ‘n roll

The Finn Miles crew and friends have been having a great spring in Iowa. One of the best things about the Midwest is the excitement of watching buds on trees explode and tomatoes in window boxes pop their heads toward the sun. We’ve started a community garden at the Broadlawns hospital; perhaps new songs will be growing in our minds as we till the earth and collect our vegitables!

Telltale Lyrics

Posted: May 4th, 2009 | Author: finnmiles | Filed under: Uncategorized | No Comments »

I buried my feelings, just to keep us apart

I heard your heart, it was beating like a clock.

You’re a ghost.

A hot breath on my neck; just the trace of a scent.

But you keeping me scratching for something I can’t put my finger on.

I can’t go back and change my sins,

forgiveness isn’t mine to give.

I thought I’d buried all the evidence…of your telltale heart.

I promised that I’d die, before I was untrue.

But truth is perception, and I don’t see you…anymore.

I’d make the sacrifice, oh to save a life….just as long as it’s mine.

But I’m losing time like a clock that’s been broken for years.
